"Balloon" is a monumental sculpture that depicts the four seasons in an abstract way. Its shape is reminiscent of a weather balloon: Six floating rings are connected by a hot-dip galvanized steel structure and a 14-metre high, tapered mast.
The inner four rings are covered with dichroic glass tiles - a material that changes color depending on the weather, time of day and incidence of light. This constantly creates new worlds of color, giving the impression of an almost alchemical process. At night, streetlights intensify the play of reflections so that "Balloon" is never plunged into complete darkness.
The green plinth with integrated seating combines art and nature. It invites passers-by to linger and turns the sculpture into a lively meeting place. "Balloon" embodies the fragile balance between man and the environment - visible, changeable and always in dialog with its surroundings.
